The next day, Friday 11th March was another sunny one. We went to Briatico and stopped on the beach you can see from Pizzo (and vice versa). I had a bit of a fish, lots of tiddlers nicking my bait (the water was so clear I could watch them do it). At least I had some evidence that my selection of bait was something that fish actually eat. I chucked an anchovy in and it was like watching piranhas.

We went on to Spiaggia di sant’irene for a swim. It was deserted when we arrived, but as soon as we got into the sea 3 cars turned up.

Saturday was change over day and we drove up to the Amalfi coast. To get there we had to get through the Campo Tenese pass, i.e. past this lot ..

The place in Amalfi is in an amazing spot, with views over Capri and Sorrento, unless you’re in the clouds as we are as I write.
We had a walk down to Sorrento in lashing rain, slipping on the slimy cobbles (I fell over twice). It’s mainly steps for the 3 Km, with short stretches along narrow lanes. The sign captures the nature of the walk, you’ll notice it’s been hit by a car and that the bloke is taking the path at a run, 2 steps at a time, to make sure he isn’t victim to a similar collision.
